Recently, Lamborghini introduced us with the new Aventador SVJ. Nonetheless, it must be pointed out Italian carmaker is falling behind other exotic automakers in the segment of limited edition and standalone hypercar. For instance, Mercedes-AMG has Project One, Aston Martin has Valkyrie and McLaren has Senna. All this is set to change quite sooner than later as Lamborghini is interested in such model. This news was confirmed by Autocar through Lamborghini’s Chairman and CEO Stefano Domenicali. Company’s head was keen on divulging too much information regarding the car.
But it was confirmed that it will be an extreme aero hypercar and will be offered in limited edition. Stefano Domenicali said that if this suspicious car is green light then it will be in same vein of Centenario and Veneno. At this point of time, this is just a speculation as there is a huge difference between limited edition production hypercar and planning. He eventually admitted that main priority for them is series production supercars. Meanwhile, Lamborghini is busy with the shipment of first examples of Aventador SVJ. Lamborghini Aventador SVJ was revealed to the world in California. It is branded as most advanced and track-focused derivative of the flagship supercar.
The power in Lamborghini Aventador SVJ comes from naturally aspirated 6.5 liter V12 engine that is rated at 770hp and 720Nm of torque. During the development, it created lap record at Nurburgring for any production car. With this setup, the supercar is able to hit 62mph in 2.8 seconds and 124mph in 8.6 seconds. The top speed of Lamborghini Aventador SVJ stands at 216mph.
