Lamborghini Huracán had already unwrapped 10,000th model which was a Lamborghini Huracán Performante. However, the 10,000th model appeared in the Verde Mantis green paint in the exterior. Moreover, it featured naturally aspirated 5.2-liter V10 engine developing 470 kW (640 PS) and 422 lb-ft (600 Nm) of torque. Hence in 2.9 seconds, the Canadian model could run 0-62 mph (0-100 km/h) with top speed being more than 201 mph (325 km/h).Lamborghini Huracán

However, the Lamborghini Huracán will be seen in production for many more years. Hence news about its successor had started emerging. While in a discussion with Car and Driver, Maurizio Reggiani, the chief technical officer of Lamborghini, indicated towards it. However, the chief technical officer stated that the V10 engine has already been a portion of the DNA of the company. He also added saying that the next generation model will be seen with the V10 engine. Moreover, Maurizio Reggiani also stated the publication that they don’t think it is need of thinking over something new. However, he added that they are confident about their naturally aspirated engine. Going further, he said that they don’t feel the need to use the V6 or V8, by downgrading their powertrain.

No official declaration is been made about the replacement of the Lamborghini Huracán is revealed yet. However, the chief technical officer seemed to be not yet ready to think apart from the naturally aspirated V10 engine. But Reggiani addressed that the alteration is being preserved for the future. Hence it can be expected that the replacement of Huracán will include some electrification form. Moreover, that will be done to cope up with the emission standards and growing fuel economy. However, some may find this to be not at all surprising as rumors are that successor of Aventador will come with a hybrid powertrain. Stating themselves as slaves to their customers, Reggiani also stated that the company will bring rear-wheel drive and all-wheel drive supercars.

While waiting for the successor of the Lamborghini Huracán, it is also been clear that the company will not follow the BMW M5. However the BMW M5 came up with an all-wheel-drive system and in a button push, it can be changed in rear-wheel drive. Moreover, the chief technical engineer also stated that the switching of the all-wheel drive provides extra weight whereas the suspension is for the all-wheel-drive model. He thinks it to compromise which is not really correct.
