Lamborghini has taken the veil off their updated GT3 Competitor ahead of 2019 debut. Dubbed as Lamborghini Huracan GT3 Evo, it was unveiled at iconic Nurburgring during the Blancpain GT Series Sprint Cup weekend. To recap, Lamborghini Huracan GT3 managed to win prestigious races such as Rolex 24 at Daytona and the Mobil 1 Twelve Hours of Sebring. The reason for the debut of the Huracan GT3 Evo is because of the highly competitive segment of GT3 and the Italian automaker wants an edge over others. The latest model is based on current Huracan GT3 that was introduced in the year 2015.
Lamborghini Huracan GT3 Evo will be made available as turn-key racer or as an upgrade kit for existing models. Italy based luxury sports car maker has spent last year along with Dallara to refine the Huracan GT3 Evo. Majority of these upgrades on Lamborghini Huracan GT3 Evo has been made with respect to the aerodynamics. Thus, it now features new front splitter, a new carbon-fiber hood which replaces the fiberglass piece, larger aero flicks in the front bumper, and a new carbon-fiber wing and diffuser at the back.
Apart from these changes, suspension has been revised with new billet-aluminum in place of steel components. There is also a revised rear axle and four-way adjustable Öhlins shocks. Lamborghini Huracan GT3 Evo comes with 5.2 liter V10 engine but has new camshafts and titanium valves. New hydraulic power steering system and the hood has been borrowed from the revised Huracan Super Trofeo Evo. Cockpit is now more usable and the ABS has been retuned. Giorgio Sanna who is Lamborghini’s Motorsport chief said that their main objective for them was to improve its driveability and making it easier and predictable that has low cost management for the teams.
