We have the confirmation that Lamborghini will world premiere its highly anticipated Aventador SVJ Roadster at next week’s Geneva Motor Show. For those who don’t know SVJ, it means Superveloce Jota and is used to name for their most extreme track focused variants. According to rumors, open-air version of limited Aventador SVJ retains regular Roadster’s removable carbon-fiber dual roof panels that each weigh about 13 pounds and can be stored in the front trunk. Lamborghini is also keeping powered rear window that can be lowered or raised regardless of the panels. Lamborghini Aventador SVJ Roadster will be identical t the Coupe version.
The Lamborghini Aventador SVJ Coupe currently holds the record at Nurburgring for fastest street legal car after lapping in 6:44.97 minutes. Power in the Lamborghini Aventador SVJ Roadster comes from naturally aspirated 6.5 liter V12 engine that has been tuned to offer 759 horsepower and 720 Nm of torque at 6,750 rpm. It is an improvement of 39hp and 22lb-ft over Aventador S. The engine also consists of titanium intake valves. With respect to aesthetics and aerodynamics, Aventador SVJ Roadster will receive same treatment to that of track-focused coupe. It includes Aerodinamica Lamborghini Attiva (ALA) system with movable spoilers, a prominent rear diffuser, tweaked underbody and a big rear wing. The wing helps in increasing downforce by 40 percent.
Upgrade has been made to suspension, seven-speed automated manual gearbox, stability control and ABS. Additionally, four-wheel drive system will lean towards torque rearwards. The Roadster rides on bespoke Nireo wheel which is wrapped in specially made Pirelli P Zero Corsa rubber. It has surfaced that the sale will begin from late this year. Other details are yet to be divulged.
