At the ongoing Moscow Auto Show, Lada’s 4×4 Vision SUV Concept has been garnering all the attention. However, at Lada’s stand another vehicle made its debut which is flagship of Vesta family. Dubbed as Lada Vesta Sport, this is dynamic version of company’s compact sedan. The namesake concept was inspiration behind it which was showcased at 2016 Moscow Auto Show. The production vehicle will also benefit from the Lada’s motorsport experience from WTCC. Lada Vesta Sport just looks like a normal Vesta but has gained aesthetic upgrades.
These upgrades include sportier front bumper integrating a spoiler that increases downforce on the front axle, wider front wheel arches and sharper door sills. There is also a more aggressive rear bumper incorporating chrome double exhaust tips, a diffuser-like element, and trim-vent side panels. A trunk lid spoiler is also installed to reduce lift on the rear axle. Exterior upgrades to the Lada Vesta Sport has been made and it comprises of boomerang-shaped matte chrome inserts under the headlights, red inserts in the bumpers, and gloss black mirror caps.
Lada Vesta Sport sits of 17 inch alloy wheels shod with low-profile tires and has red “Sport” badges on the grille and boot lid. Not much is known about the interior but it will have multifunction sports steering wheel with red stitching and 12 o’clock mark, aluminum pedals, and carbon fiber-like trim on the dash and door panels. The power in Lada Vesta Sport comes from tuned version of regular Vesta. Hence, it uses naturally aspirated 1.8 liter four-cylinder gasoline engine. The output of this engine is 143hp and 182Nm of torque. It is able to accelerate from 0-62mph in 9.6 seconds before hitting the top speed of 120mph. The engine is mated with five-speed manual transmission.
