We have got an idea regarding the true power boasted by the Jaguar XE SV Project 8. Nonetheless, British super saloon added another feather in their list of achievement which is of fastest production sedan around Laguna Seca. Jaguar XE SV Project 8 managed to lap California lap in just 1:37.54 seconds with the help of driver Randy Pobst. It managed to beat Cadillac’s CTS-V lap record by a full second. Interestingly, last year Jaguar XE SV Project 8 managed to lap at the iconic Nurburgring in 7:21.23 seconds.
XE SV Project 8 is considered as one of the most aggressive Jaguar till date and built by JLR’s Special Vehicle Operations division. Under the hood of Jaguar XE SV Project 8, there is supercharged 5.0 liter V8 engine that is rated at 592hp. With the help of eight-speed ZF automatic transmission, generated power is transferred to all four wheels. This setup helps Jaguar XE SV Project 8 to accelerate 60mph from stagnant position in 3.3 seconds whereas it takes 3.7 seconds to hit 100mph.
For the creation of Jaguar XE SV Project 8, SVO division re-engineered and modify the chassis and body of the regular XE. It also includes front firewall and the rear subframe. Attached pictures here only showcase its front doors and roof with the regular production model. Production of XE SV Project 8 will be strictly limited and only 300 units of hand-built units will be made. The starting price of XE SV Project 8 in United States is $187,500. The price is steep but is understandable.
