The all new Infiniti Q60 is like a fresh air in the segment. It is aiming to be a solid alternative to German trio such as C Class, 4 Series and A5. And also an adversary for the Cadillac ATS Coupe and Lexus RC. Nissan’s premium marque started the model’s production at the Tochigi plant. Since the company launched in 1989 it has been making many Infiniti’s. They have also made GT-R sports cars and Nissan 370Z.
Infiniti improved the assembly lines and stamping and updated the factory’s production to get everything ready for Infiniti Q60 debut. During the inspection process a new lighting system is used to boost the quality control. The assembly line is also monitored for the same reason by cameras hooked up to the video system. Infiniti said that the Dynamic Sandstone Q60’s Red paint needs to install a dedicated paint booth, manual processes and newly developed machinery so that the deep red finishing and glossy will come out right.
The model will go on sale early next month in the United States. Infiniti Q60 starting price will be $39,885 for the entry level version which has turbocharged 2.0 litre gasoline engine with 208 HP. It will upgrade it to a newly developed 3.0 litre Biturbo V6 engine with 300 HP. Instead of standard RWD layout if you want an all wheel drive layout, then the starting price will increase to $45,205 or $47,205. It will go beefier 400 horsepower version of 6 cylinder engine in the Red Sport Q60 400 model. Its price will be announced on the later date.
