The 2019 Los Angeles Auto Show will commence from 22nd November and ahead of it, many automakers have teased their upcoming vehicles. Among several world premieres, Hyundai will also reveal an important model at this event. It is going to be a crossover concept and described by Hyundai as ground breaking vehicle. This is going to be seventh in a series of show cars by Hyundai Design Center. It expresses an evolvement of Hyundai’s Sensuous Sportiness global design language. Hyundai PHEV SUV Concept will boast a hidden signature lamp inspired by Grandeur facelift and Le Fil Rouge.
Moreover, there is also a Parametric Air Shutter grille design with individual shells that creates a dynamic design and adjust the airflow that enters the powertrain. It also optimizes the aerodynamics and improves fuel consumption. Hyundai PHEV SUV Concept has an elegant profile with squared wheel arches, slim lights at both ends and a sloping roofline. Nonetheless, it lacks conventional door handles and side mirrors. It is highly likely that side mirrors have been replaced by tiny cameras.
Name of the Hyundai PHEV SUV Concept is yet to be confirmed but they confirmed that it packs a plug-in hybrid powertrain that has the ability to travel on zero emissions for short distances. Hyundai’s Global Design Center Senior Vice president, SangYup Lee said that they are pursuing innovative solutions in design and add emotional value to the product experience with help from sensuous sportiness design language. Since, SUV Concept is powered with plug-in hybrid powertrain it indicates eco-lifestyle.
