We recently got to see 2018 Buick Regal GS and Opel Insignia GSi in flesh. Now Holden has taken wraps off their new Commodore VXR. With respect to the aesthetics, it is quite similar to that its international counterparts. Holden Commodore VXR consists of aggressive front fascia along with large air intakes and also has adaptive LED matrix headlights. It is also equipped with new side skirts, unique rear spoiler and 20 inch alloy wheels. The company refused to divulge any confirmation regarding the interior of the Holden Commodore VXR. However, they did disclose that it will have heated and ventilated leather seats.
There is also a good chance that it will comprise of black trim, flat-bottom steering wheel and metallic accents. Holden Commodore VXR will have many technological features such as driver assistance systems such as lane keep assist, adaptive cruise control, and autonomous braking system with pedestrian protection. Other feature includes rear cross traffic alert, forward collision alert and head-up display. The power in the Holden Commodore VXR comes from 3.6 liter V6 engine. It gives an output of 315 horsepower and 381 Nm of torque. The engine is mated with nine-speed automatic transmission.
The engine sends the power to adaptive all-wheel drive system which has torque vectoring function. There are additional performance features are Hi-per strut suspension, Brembo front brakes, and continuous damping control. Drive will have three driving distinct experiences to choose from. According to Rob Trubiani who is Holden Lead Dynamics Engineer said that Commodore VXR is a worthy successor to the SS and will have different execution on performance. Holden Commodore VXR will be launched next year.
