Ginetta Supercar revealed with over 600hp, to debut at Geneva

Ginetta has taken the cover off their new supercar and will make its debut at upcoming Geneva Motor Show. At this event, we will get to know its name and pricing details. However, we expect it to be around £400,000. Ginetta Supercar set to have a front-mid engine layout which will be aggressively wrapped with carbon fiber bodywork. It is designed in such a manner that it offers huge levels of downforce. The chassis utilizes a bespoke carbon-fiber tub and power comes from an in-house designed V8 unit. It is a naturally aspirated 6.0 liter, dry-sumped 90° V8.

It is built from a single aluminum billet block with forged inners that featuring Ginetta’s own design of throttle bodies. Output of the supercar claims to be in excess of 600hp and 700Nm of torque. Engine is mated with bespoke six-speed sequential transmission along with carbon propshaft and paddle shifters. This not only delivers lightning quick gear changes, but reportedly offers racecar like soundtrack. Dry weight of Ginetta Supercar is just 1,150kg. Hence, power-to-weight ratio is 545hp per ton. This makes it quite impressive considering it has FIA-spec rollover structure.

Design of supercar is inspired by Ginetta LMP1 cars. This is why looks are similar and race-car levels of downforce (376kg at 100mph/160km.h). The weight distribution is almost perfect as it reads 49:51 front to rear. There are also chassis sports adjustable pushrod double wishbones in all four corners. Interior images of Ginetta Supercar are yet to be seen, but they released a single image. It looks like it is laden with Alcantara, carbon fiber and billet aluminum. Ginetta has incorporated ABS, traction control, a reverse camera, automatic headlights, park sensors, air conditioning, heated screens front and rear, wireless phone charging. For the year 2020, only 20 units will be made and 12 units have already been sold.
