Genesis will introduce G80 sedan in Australia in June and it will buyers first chance to get their enjoy Hyundai’s luxury brand. Power in the Australia-spec Genesis G80 will come from 3.8-liter V6 engine that generates 311 horsepower and 397 Nm of torque. The engine is mated with eight-speed automatic transmission that transfer generated power to rear wheels. Genesis G80 offers drive model control system, which enables drivers to choose from Normal, Eco, Sport, and Snow models. To ensure that G80 sedan functions without hiccups on local roads, Genesis tested the vehicle extensively in Australia.
Genesis G80 sedan also offers Genesis Adaptive Control Suspension with Dynamic Stability Control and Electronic Control Suspension. It sports continuously variable dampers with the ability to adjust compression and rebound up to 100 times per second. G80 sedans which will be sold in Australia will have Genesis Active Safety Control suite as standard. This suite consists of Blind-Spot Collision Warning, Driver Attention Warning, Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist with pedestrian detection, and High Beam Assist. There is also Lane Departure Warning, Pre-active Seat Belts, Rear Cross-Traffic Collision Warning, Smart Cruise Control, Surround View Monitor, Parking Distance Warning, Tire Pressure Monitoring System and nine airbags.
Two trim levels are available with Genesis G80 and the entry level is priced at $68,900 AUD and is dubbed as G80 3.8. This version offers 9.2-inch HD multimedia system, 17-speaker Lexicon by Harman audio system, wireless smartphone charging, and LED headlights. Range-topping version is G80 3.8 Ultimate and is priced at $88,900 AUD. The Ultimate version offers 19-inch alloy wheels, a heated steering wheel, panorama glass sunroof, head-up display, and a 7-inch digital gauge cluster. Buyers can also opt for Sport Design package that is priced at $4,000 and it comes with exterior and interior upgrades.
