A bespoke supercharger kit has been developed for 2018-2019 Ford Mustang GT. It is developed by partnership between Ford Performance and Roush and set to achieve GT500s like performance. The supercharger kit is named R2650. It can be ordered via Roush or Ford Performance and is street legal for all 50 states in the U.S. Thankfully, it comes with three year or 36,000 miles warranty. Price of this kit is $7,699. Ford Performance and Roush developed this supercharger kit to function exclusively with naturally aspirated 5.0 liter V8 engine. In stock form, the engine offers an output of 435hp and 542 Nm of torque.
Buyers, who dream of getting GT500 like performance, can opt for this supercharger kit without spending on Shelby. The supercharger kit offers up 2.65-liters of positive displacement and runs at 12 PSI. Therefore, it offers an astonishing 700hp and 827 Nm of torque. These figures are usually reserved for expensive and rare supercars. Since, it produces a massive output; engine and supercharger are cooled with the help of few tweaking. Henceforth, an all-aluminum intercooler and full-face radiator have been developed alongside high-capacity degas bottles and a separate reservoir.
Roush claims that R2650 supercharger kit has spent hundreds of hours on the dyno. It has also encountered more than 17 million wide-open-throttle cycles while consistently delivering in excess of 700 hp. The kit is developed for manual and automatic 2018-2019 Ford Mustang GT. But, there is a catch, it can be installed by Ford dealer only or by Automotive Service Excellence-certified technician. Failure to do so will void the warranty.
