The very first production version of the 2019 Ford Mustang Bullitt fetched $300,000 at Scottsdale auction. It recently made its debut at the Detroit Auto Show amid much fanfare. The raised money from the auction will go to Boys Republic which is a private all-boys school for troubled adolescents based in California. The money that went to Boys Republic is quite befitting as Steve McQueen attended this school and presided over it as an honorary member from 1966 to 1975. The official pricing of the 2019 Ford Mustang Bullitt is not known as of yet.
Nonetheless, the auction price of the 2019 Ford Mustang Bullitt is triple of the retail price. What makes this vehicle so special is the fact that it pays homage to the Steve McQueen’s Bullitt. A film that is still considered by many as one of the best movies McQueen acted in. This muscle car exterior is covered with Dark Highland Green paint and comprise of many chrome accents that can be found on grille and windows. There are other bespoke parts included in 2019 Ford Mustang Bullitt such as 19 inch alloy wheels, red-painted Brembo brakes, and an active valve performance exhaust system with custom Black NitroPlate exhaust tips.
2019 Ford Mustang Bullitt is powered with 5.0 liter naturally aspirated V8 engine. The same engine is also found of Ford Mustang GT. However, there are some additional modifications in it like Open Air Induction System and a Shelby GT350 intake manifold with 87 mm throttle bodies. All these changes help the new Ford Mustang Bullitt deliver 475 horsepower and 425 lb-ft of torque.
