Ares Design chose Ferrari GTC4Lusso for their new project which is dubbed as “Project Pony”. Italian coach-builder wanted GTC4Lusso to resemble like the Ferrari 412. Ferrari 412 was last of 400 series that had production run between 1985 and 1989. This car from Ares Design favours two-door coupe body style and ditches Shooting Brake look. Modified Ferrari GTC4Lusso has been crafted from carbon fiber and incorporates soft lines along with sharp creases and retro wheels. Additionally, vented hood and pop-up headlights is a throwback to Ferrari 412. Nonetheless, it retains GTC4Lusso’s taillight pattern and grille.
Ares Design’s Project Pony has 2+2 seating configuration but dashboard has been modified and entire cabin has been reupholstered. For this purpose, combination of black and brown leather is used and for contrast, white stitching is present. Another interesting change is the round steering wheel in place of flat-bottom which was present in Ferrari 412. All other aspects of the Ferrari GTC4Lusso have been retained in Project Pony. Hence, all-wheel drive system, rear-wheel steering and several other features will be found which will make driving enjoyable irrespective of weather.
Ares Design car will have naturally aspirated 6.3 liter V12 engine that is rated at 680hp and 697Nm of torque. Ferrari GTC4Lusso is capable of accelerating 0 to 62mph in 3.4 seconds and has the top speed of 208mph. It is expected that Project Pony will also have similar figures. Details regarding the pricing have not been disclosed, but we anticipate that it would in the region of €700,000 in Europe. In other words, it is twice as expensive as the Ferrari GTC4Lusso.
