Ford have said that they are prepping to introduce new, entry-level Mustang at this month’s New York Auto Show. Details regarding the vehicle is scarce at this moment, but automotive magazine Motor1 claims that it wont just be an entry level Mustang. It will come with extra performance and might even take shape of all-new SVO. Currently, Ford Mustang range starts from turbocharged 2.3-liter EcoBoost four-cylinder engine that offers 310 horsepower. We have already seen that tuning companies have managed to extra ore power from the engine.
It should not be surprising for us if Ford attempts tries to extract more power from the four-cylinder engine for the latest Mustang. If this model turns out to be true then it would be a perfect fit in the Mustang family. Currently, there is a 125hp gap between the EcoBoost model and the V8-powered Mustang GT. A document providing VIN decoder information surfaced online in the month of February. This document indicated the existence of new four-cylinder Mustang and being readied for as 2020 model year.
No horsepower figure is listed for the new Ford Mustang, but it would be in region of 350 horsepower. It is said considering such engine is already available in Ford Focus RS. If the newest Mustang is slotted between the two current models, it is going to make use of some suspension and chassis adjustments. To make the entry-level Mustang more appealing, several exterior changes would be made on it. We will have to wait to get a confirmation regarding this rumor going around.
