A small Dutch automaker Donkervoort has announced a special limited edition that will arrive soon. This model is launched to celebrate 70th birth anniversary of company’s founder Joop Donkervoort. It is dubbed as Donkervoort D8 GTO-JD70 and is powered with turbocharged 2.5-liter five-cylinder engine from Audi Sport. Donkervoort hasn’t reveal complete spec of this special edition so we have no idea how powerful the car is. Nonetheless, regular D8 GTO delivers an impressive 375hp from the same powertrain.
Just like any other Donkervoort, D8 GTO-JD70 is expected to be exceptionally light and weight scale is tipped at under 700kg. This massive feat was achieved by the usage of their own advanced carbon fiber technology. It was previously awarded a European Union innovation grant. At this point of time, but only a couple of dark images has been released. Nonetheless, it appears not to have gone any series styling changes. But this example is finished in dark shade of green carbon fiber.
Company claims that Donkervoort D8 GTO-JD70 will be a supercar for people who likes heightended senses and utter purity of unfiltered driving experiences. It allows driver to form an unshakeable bond with the machine. Donkervoort D8 GTO is able to accelerate to 62mph in under three seconds and we are expecting the same from JD70. Production of Donkervoort D8 GTO-JD70 is limited to 70 units and will be unveiled by next year. Price of the D8 GTO-JD70 will start from €163,636 with first deliveries will commence from 2020 and 2021.
