Dodge Challenger SRT Demon is one hell of a muscle car with is V8 supercharged engine. As earlier reported, the Challenger SRT Demon is set to lose some weight and now new reports suggest the same. The upcoming Dodge Challenger SRT Demon will weigh less than Challenger SRT Hellcat. Several changes have been made to the cabin of his car. From now, front driver’s seat along with the seat belt assembly has been removed. This has helped in saving around 58 pounds.
The rear seat has also been removed along with tilt scope steering scope saves around 55 and 4 pounds respectively. The front door has not only two speakers. Noise cancelling components (NVH Components) has been significantly reduced which saved around 18 pounds. So the noise from the Dodge Challenger SRT Demon will be demonic compared to the Hellcat. Small brakes alongside with custom 18×11 inches of aluminium wheels save about 32 pounds. Scrapping of trunk lining and spare tires has in total saved 232 pounds.
It needs to be pointed out that Dodge Challenger SRT Demon will be gaining 17 pounds of additional weight because of the flared front and arches on the rear wheel. Where the car will gain weight is still a huge suspense. The Dodge Challenger SRT Demon will be unveiled at New York Auto Show in the month of April. We would only know more about it when the date arrives, till then we will have to wait and watch. It is expected that FCA would gather millions of fans to see this beast.
