At this year’s, Goodwood Festival of Speed many automakers made public debut or world premiere of their respective cars. However, not everyone followed the suite. Dallara Stradale, who is around two years old did something completely unique. It was driven up the hill by four-time IndyCar champion Dario Franchitti. The driver alone deserves our attention. It has to be said that it is one of the most exciting things on four wheels. Price of Dallara Stradale starts from €155,000, but it is not meant for everybody.
Dallara Stradale is targeted for track enthusiasts and even for pro-racing driver who wants to relive old days. Scales of the car is tipped at just 855 kg. It simply sticks to the tarmac, with the help of optional rear wing, it offers an impressive 820 kg of downforce at 174 mph. Power in the Dallara Stradale is derived from Ford-sourced 2.3-liter EcoBoost four unit that is mated with six-speed manual or an automated-manual transmission. This setup helps the vehicle to offer an output of 394hp and 500 Nm of torque and when given free space on the road, it can accelerate to 62mph in 3.25 seconds.
If we compare acceleration figure with Lamborghini Huracan Evo, it is slower by few tenth of a second. However, it is quicker that rear-wheel version of Huracan Evo. Chassis builder Dallara is also offering different option like the windshield and gull-wing doors that transform the vehicle into a coupe.
