Cadillac will debut its CT5-V at a private event scheduled for this month on 30th May. 2020 Cadillac CT5 won’t be launched until fall. Apart from CT5-V, CT4 will also join the event. This news was confirmed by Motor1 who got a private invitation of this event. Nowadays, it is quite uncommon for automakers to launch sedan, but Cadillac confirmed that CT4 is a sedan with V moniker. Even though Cadillac is tight lipped about the powertrain, CT5-V could come with twin-turbo 4.2-liter V8 engine. The generated output is 500hp and 777 Nm of torque in standard form.
The same engine used on range-toping CT6-V generates an impressive 550hp and 850 Nm of torque. Officially, CT5-V has not been rated but it replaces the CTS-V. CTS-V used supercharged 6.2-liter V8 engine which offered 640hp and 853 Nm of torque. It helped the sedan to sprint from 0 to 62mph in just 3.7 seconds before hitting the top speed of 200mph. We are confident that CT5-V will surprise everyone, but we must not forget that there is also Cadillac CT4.
Cadillac CT4 will act as brand’s entry level sedan and will ride on shortened version of CT5 platform. We are expecting it to use turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder that offers around 237hp and 350 Nm of torque. However, we might also see turbocharged 3.0-liter V6 that produces 335hp and 542 Nm of torque. Not much is known about the CT4, but judging by the spy photos it will have aggressive design language. We will know more about the CT4 and CT5-V in coming weeks, so stay tuned to our website.
