Few days back, Bugatti revealed a teaser of EB110 successor and now Italian automaker have officially revealed it at Pebble Beach. It is dubbed as Bugatti Centodieci and features 8.0-liter W16 engine. It offers an astounding 1,578 hp (1,600 PS). It is 99hp more than what Bugatti Chiron has to offer. With this extra power, Centodieci is able to accelerate from 0-62mph in just 2.4 seconds and takes 6.1 seconds to reach 124mph when accelerator is pushed to its limit. To reach 0-186mph, it takes 7.0 seconds which is quite impressive. When there is enough space on the road, Bugatti Centodieci can hit electronically limited top speed of 236 mph.
Performance is also helped by the fact that it weighs 20 kg less than Chiron. It was made possible by including lightweight windshield wiper and stabilizers that were built out of carbon fiber. Bugatti’s CEO Stephan Winkelmann said that with increased power and lower weight further improved performance and better acceleration at high speeds. He claimed that Bugatti Centodieci has a better power-to-weight ration than Chiron and even more dynamic handling. Centodieci draws inspiration from EB100 which was introduced in the year 1991 on 110th birthday of Ettore Bugatti. Achim Anscheidt, Design Director had a tough job on his hand as he had to transport classic look into new millennium without copying it.
They had to create a new way of combining the complex aerothermal requirements of the underlying Chiron technology with a completely different aesthetic appearance. Despite the problems, Centodieci successfully blends styling cues from Chiron and EB100 with few of their own. The front adopts a smaller horseshoe grille and horizontal fins that is reference to the EB110. There is also new front slitter and an aerodynamically optimized hood. Moreover, Bugatti Centodieci has slender LED headlights with integrated daytime running lights. Centodieci has unique bodywork that incorporates vent from the EB110 and a prominent shoulder line that angles towards the rear end. Production of Bugatti Centodieci will be limited to 10 units and only two will be delivered each year. It has a price tag of $8.9 million, but all ten units have already been spoken for.
