Goodwood Festival of Speed is scheduled for next week and at this event one of the most highly anticipated cars of this year will debut. We are talking about Brabham BT62 and it won’t be with green and gold livery that we say in May at the launch. This time around, Brabham BT62 will be showcased in red and blue livery. This strange paint scheme pays tribute to Brabham BT46B. BT46B was driven by legendary F1 champion Niki Lauda during his win at Swedish Grand Prix on 17th June 1978.
At Goodwood Festival of Speed, company’s Managing Director, David Brabham will be behind the wheels. When the vehicle is not busy covering the track, it will be rest on the Michelin Supercar Paddock for display. David Brabham is excited to drive on the iconic hill climb route and added that Goodwood celebrates every automotive from around the world and this is a perfect opportunity for Brabham BT62. His father was a regular attendee at this event and David will continue the tradition of Brabham driving Brabham. Its dynamic public debut will be of historical significance at Goodwood.
Brabham BT62 is the first production vehicle from the automotive company and claims to offer unrivalled driving experience. Under the hood of Brabham BT62, there is naturally aspirated 5.4 liter V8 unit and delivers 700hp and 492lb-ft of torque. The weight of Brabham BT62 is 972kg even though it has huge size and is able to produce a maximum downforce of 1200kg. Goodwood Festival of Speed will take place between 12th and 15th July 2018.
