Brabham’s CEO David Brabham intends to conquer Le Mans 24Hours and win emphatically. He was making this statement while he was inspecting the track-oriented Brabham BT62. CEO claimed that this version or the future version would be able to handle the Le Mans track in not too distant future. David Brabham is a former Formula 1 drive and his father was the legendary Jack Brabham. Jack Brabham developed his own car and had his label during his 1966 win. David has also won many endurance races in his time and managed to secure an overall win in 2009 with Peugeot.
Talking about Brabham BT62, only 70 units will be available worldwide. It has all the ingredients of a race car and weighs less than 1,000kg. It needs to be seen if it manages to follow the regulations that was announced by FIA. The changes forced current LMP1 series replaced by one and road-gong hypercars will compete. Thus, there is a good probability that Brabham BT62 Hypercar or its future version might compete in this event. It will have to face the likes of McLaren Senna, Mercedes-AMG Project One, Aston Martin Valkyrie and Toyota GR Super Sport.
We still don’t know complete specifications of Brabham BT62 Hypercar. However, it will be powered with naturally aspirated 5.4 liter V8 unit. This offers an impressive 700 horsepower and 492 lb-ft of torque. The engine works in conjugation with six-speed sequential racing transmission that transfers the power to the rear wheels. The aero package included in it has been designed to offer optimal downforce and cooling.
