Few people are familiar with the German brand Borgward even though it was founded in the year 1929. The brand was revived by the founder’s grandson with the help of Chinese investor in the year 2008. Now they brand is all set to unveil a flagship model BXi7 at the upcoming Shanghai Auto Show. It is an electric version of the BX7 flagship model. A single image released by Wheelsage shows how the Borgward BXi7 will look like.
The image reveals that the headlight, side mirror, logos and front grille in the Borgward BXi7 will have light blue details. The powertrain for the Borgward BXi7 is still unknown but according to some report, it suggests that it will have a range of 155 miles on a single charge. The production of Borgward BXi7 is slated to take place at the new factory in Bremen, Germany. Borgward has promised to introduce PHEV and all-electric variants at a competitive price soon.
The same factory is also used for the production of BX5 (European Specification). Borgward BX5 will be offered in all-electric powertrain and plug-in hybrid. If one remembers, Borgward also launched smaller BX5 petrol version in China. It will use 190 horsepower turbocharged engine in the petrol version of BX5. The electric Borgward BXi7 will be showcased at Shanghai Auto Show on 19th April. BX7 will be first model to hit on the road which will be followed by BX5 and BX6 TS Concept.
