During the world premiere in Detroit at the North American International Auto Show BMW announced pricing of the new additions to the BMW 5 Series family. They are the high performance M550i xDrive and plug in hybrid 530e. BMW USA will bring these two models of G30 5-Series this spring at the showrooms. The BMW 530e iPerformance 2018 will be available in all wheel drive and both rear configurations. Its starting price will be $52,395 for the latter and $54,695 for the former. It includes destination and handling fees. It is only $1,200 more than the base version of the previous generation, 528i non-hybrid with 2.0 L turbo.
The new 530e plug-in hybrid powertrain teamed up with an electric motor with 2.0 liter turbo petrol four-cylinder with a combined output of 310 lb feet and 248 HP. It can accelerate from 0 to 60 miles per hour in 6.0 seconds only with all wheel drive models scoring 5.8 seconds. BMW is also offering a ballistic version of the 5 Series if you can’t wait for the launch of G30 M5. It is BMW M550i xDrive. It will be powered by a V8 4.4 liter twin turbo producing 480 lb feet and 456 HP.
The M550i xDrive can accelerate from 0 to 60 miles per hour in less than four seconds. It is faster than the outgoing M5 in its area. It features Valvetronic fully variable valve lift, Double VANOS variable camshaft timing control and High Precision Injection system. The starting price for the BMW M550i xDrive is $73,095. It includes destination and handling fees. It is the first M Performance model that will use a modified M Performance engine.
