Last year, Manhart previewed BMW M850i and now they have finally officially unveiled their version of 8-Series. When Manhart started working on M850i, M8 was yet to be officially launched and Manhart creation had every attribute for an aftermarket tuner to counter the M8. It has been an eight months long wait and is familiar with M8 has to offer which has to be said is quite promising, so how Manhart’s latest creation compete against the M8. On paper, tuned BMW M850i looks promising with its twin-turbocharged 4.4-liter V8 unit that is rated at 621hp and 850 Nm of torque.
Stock version of BMW M850i offers 523hp and 750 Nm of torque and is also able to overtake range-topping M8 Competition that offers 617hp and 750 Nm of torque. Manhart also worked to ensure better handling capabilities of the M850i. To ensure that, they have fitted it with a set of H&R lowering springs and 21-inch wheels. Few visual modifications have been made. It can be found on four carbon-tipped tailpipes, a carbon fiber front splitter and a carbon fiber rear lip spoiler.
Despite BMW M850i tuned is more powerful than the standard M8 and M8 Competition model, it lacks certain upgrades that makes M8 so great and fascinating. For instance, BMW M8 comes with an advanced all-wheel drive system with an Active M differential that allows for all-wheel drive and rear-wheel drive driving and highly-technical braking system. Nonetheless, we are just nit-picking and must appreciate the work done by Manhart. Do check out the mesmerizing galleries of the BMW M850i we have added for your enjoyment.
