At this year’s Frankfurt Motor Show, we have come across several innovative and interesting hybrid and all-electric cars. Among these new creations, BMW M8 Competition makes it mark without making any extra effort. The new M8 Competition was first showed in the month of June and made its presence at the Goodwood Festival of Speed. This particular M8 Competition has stunning shade of matte blue that gives it an enticing look. Unlike other cars, BMW M8 Competition uses ICE powertrain.
Till now, we have seen M8 in two guise which are Convertible and Coupe, in standard and Competition spec. At Los Angeles Auto Show scheduled for November, Gran Coupe will join the range. All versions of BMW M8 are powered with a twin-turbocharged 4.4-liter V8 delivering an output of 592hp and 750 Nm of torque in base version. Output jumps to 617hp in Competition but torque remains the same. This setup helps it to sprint to 62mph Coupe takes 3.3 seconds whereas Convertible takes 3.4 seconds and 3.2/3.3 seconds for respective Competition versions.
BMW is more than confident that M8 lineup is so strong that it doesn’t need supercar in its range. They claim it because range-topping version everything customer would want from it. It features an Active M differential with all-wheel drive and rear-wheel drive modes, M-specific Adaptive dampers. Additionally, there is also M Servotronic steering and BMW’s integrated braking system that has two levels of pedal feel. We have attached few images of the BMW M8 Competition from Frankfurt.
