Last year, we got to see how BMW 1 Series sedan was launched in China and this year it made its official launch. News report suggests that the new BMW 1-Series might be offered in the United States too. BMW tries their best in shutting down rumors about the 1 Series being offered in other countries. Automotive News reports that the BMW 1-Series Sedan could go on sale in the US by the early 2019. The sedan would be competing against other front wheel drive vehicles such as Audi A3 and Mercedes-Benz CLA.
If somehow, the BMW 1-Series doesn’t arrive in US market, one must remember that its front wheel drive platform will underpin the new 2 Series Gran Coupe that is rumoured to arrive in 2020. It will be joined by convertible and coupe variants of next-gen 2 Series which is rumoured to arrive by 2022. The report also disclosed that new 3 Series will hit the US market by the end of year 2019. However, 3 Series Gran Turismo will be dropped from the lineup and an electric variant will be added by 2019 or 2020.
BMW 4 Series will follow soon after and coupe is expected to arrive by 2020. Within a gap of one year, convertible and Gran Coupe versions will be added. BMW 5 Series is already a huge success and it seems that BMW want to carry on the success with the new M5. BMW M5 is set to make its debut at Frankfurt Auto Show. It will be on sale in US by next year. Recently, 6 Series went through lots of changes and it introduced 6 Series Gran Turismo. All the other models in the 6 Series will be phased out and they would concentrate on 8 Series. BMW is facing stiff competition from Audi A8 and Mercedes S-Class and hence, 7 Series is being tweaked for that. Fully redesign model is set to arrive in 2022.
