2019 is a special year for Bentley as it celebrates its centenary year. Bentley Motors Limited was formed in the year 1919 on 10th of July and its only objective was to make “fast and good car”. They dominated pre-war racing competition and produces luxury vehicles for elites. On this occasion, Bentley will introduce a special version at upcoming Geneva Motor Show. But before that they have revealed a teaser of the model along with the announcement of the new model. The special version is said to be inspired by one of their iconic racing models.
We are already familiar with Bentley’s celebrations for its centenary. It comprises of a range of unique features under the so-called ‘Centenary Specification’. It is available for all Bentley that will be made between January and December 2019. The ‘Centenary Specification’ consist of gold badges, treadplates with the ‘1919-2019’ script on them, and gold contrast stitching for the cabin. There is also an option of special Bentley Centenary Gold paint finish which has been specifically crafted to shine and reflect like expensive jewellery. At this point of time, we are not sure on what this special model is based on.
Nonetheless, Bentley has been quite secretive about the car, but the new black grille boasts a centrally-placed nine. We are guessing it refers to the British automaker’s Team Blower’ race car no.9 which competed in the year 1930 at 24 Hours of Le Mans. This 4 ½ Blower remains of the most famous model from the company and its helm was iconic racing driver Sir Henry ‘Tim’ Birkin. All these are just speculations for the moment and nothing concentre has been disclosed till date.
