The new Audi SQ5 revealed at the Detroit Auto Show. It has more aggressive bodywork over the new regular generation Q5 which was not there for show. It is powered by TFSI V6 3.0 liter producing 369 lb feet and 349 HP of torque to all the four corners. It is connected to an automatic eight speed transmission. The Audi SQ5 can accelerate from 0 to 60 miles per hour in only 5.1 seconds. It has a top speed of 155 mph. The engine will use high pressure injectors and high compression ratio and also a twin scroll turbocharger to improve its efficiency.
The Audi SQ5 has an optional sport differential. It can send more torque to the outside rear wheel to encourage oversteer. It uses five link front and rear suspension. It sits on 20 inch alloys as standard and 21 inches alternatives are optional. The braking is handled by four piston rear calipers and six piston front. The driver assist programme include an active lane assist, collision avoidance assist, an auto parking function, hill descent control, cross traffic assist, traffic jam assist and adaptive cruise control.
It has gone through some technical updates that include a newly developed suspension. The company can also include a sport adaptive air suspension that comes with the S Sport package and it is controllable through the Audi Drive Select while adjusting the height and firmness of the dampers. It also has dynamic steering hat improves maneuvering. Still now the price of the new Audi SQ5 is not revealed. But it should sit in the same zone like its predecessor. It used to retail for around $52,000.
