In a couple of weeks, Audi E-Tron will be officially revealed. This electric SUV is being produced at their Brussels factory. Audi E-Tron is their first mass produced and battery power electric vehicle. It aims to lessen the shorter charging time using the 150kW quick charging station. With 30 minutes of charging, the vehicle will be able to cover long distance trip. Audi E-Tron uses 95kW battery pack and according to WLTP, the range of this SUV is 248.5 miles. Audi has already announced that this electric SUV will have advanced energy recuperation system.
This energy recuperation system has three different modes which will allow the driver to perform more than 9 percent of all decelerate manoeuvre without disturbing the brake pedal. Another interesting feature in the Audi E-Tron is the option of virtual door mirrors. It is first for the series production car. Audi has replaced the traditional door mirrors and in its place set of cameras. It not only projects the images on door but also enable E-Tron to be more aerodynamically efficient.
Peter Kössler, Member of the Board of Management for Production and Logistics of Audi said that “E-Tron is a genuine pioneer”. He further added that it has innovative technology like the virtual exterior mirrors without compromising on Audi’s handling and dynamics. Audi’s Brussels plant has been modernized for the purpose of the production of this electric SUV. Incidentally, this is also world’s first certified CO2 neutral mass production in premium segment. Revelation of Audi E-Tron is scheduled for 17th September at San Francisco.
