World is patiently waiting for Aston Martin’s new AM-RB 003 hypercar. However, company’s CEO Andy Palmer has revealed a major hint regarding the name of the upcoming Aston Martin AM-RB 003 when it finally goes into production. Andy Palmer in an interview to Autonews Europe in Geneva said that they have reserved name “Valhalla” in their naming book. Nonetheless, he didn’t confirm that the name would be used for Aston Martin AM-RB 003. It is due by year 2021 and will use hybrid powertrain which is developed in-house by Gaydon based luxury sports maker.
According to Aston Martin, the hybrid supercar will be limited to 500 units which meets and surpasses existing top-end hypercar rivals. Price of AM-RB 003 is set to exceed £1 million. Just like Valkyrie, AM-RB 003 is also developed with the help of Red Bull Advanced Technologies, a division of Red Bull Racing Formula 1 team. Andy Palmer also stressed importance of working with Red Bull chief engineer Adrian Newey on this project. He stated that working with Adrian is his F1 obsession about weight. It helped them in changing their thinking.
Andy used cockpit design to emphasize his point as there is a holder for smartphone rather than infotainment screen. With respect to design of Aston Martin AM-RB 003, it is inspired by Valkyrie. Nonetheless, Aston Martin claims that it is more of a distillation Valkyrie instead of dilution. So, tell us what you think regarding the name of the car. Do you think that name should be different?
