After the warm reception of Aston Martin Lagonda Taraf, their chief Andy Palmer made a revelation about Lagonda series. Initially it was introduced in Middel East and then eventually bought in UK and South Africa. Only 200 units of Aston Martin Taraf were produced. Andy revealed that they are fully intent on more luxurious sedan models under the Lagonda range. He broke his news in an interview with Car & Driver and the work is underway to plan a map for future Lagonda models.
Nonetheless, he did point out that production will not be followed soon as they need to work to reach their financial goals. There is good chance that Aston Martin might come out with two luxury Lagonda models. For Andy Palmer, Aston Martin Lagonda series can be a credible brand as they have the expertise in making luxurious sedans, and have sold them with great success. However, the onset of Aston Martin Lagonda will be the end of another successful brand. Aston Martin Rapide could end post the creation of Lagonda.
The Lagonda series will not only have unique badging but might also get unique powertrain too. The price tag of million dollars hasn’t stopped the success of Lagonda Taraf. Hence, it would not be a bad idea to come up with many more models. We will have to wait till 2021 to see the first model. Even though the plan is currently on the paper, if it does happen then it will give a good competition to Bentley but might not be able to compete Rolls Royce.
