Anyone familiar with automotive history would know that Aston Martin DB4 GT Zagato is a rare race from 1960s, but there is so much to it rather than a simple rare car. Aston Martin’s DB4 GT Zagato is one of the most desirable cars from British sports car and is expensive because of its exclusivity as only 19 units were built. Aston Martin has decided to build an additional 19 units as part of their Continuation program. First example of Aston Martin DB4 GT Zagato Continuation was completed recently and brought to 24 Hours of Le Mans for its public debut.
Aston Martin DB4 GT Zagato Continuation is on display at their VIP hospitality facility at the Circuit de la Sarthe throughout the world’s most famous 24-hour race. It took craftspeople more than 4,500 hours to build first example of Aston Martin DB4 GT Zagato Continuation. All the work was done at Heritage Division in Newport Pagnell and is finished in Rosso Maja paint that matches the original color of the car from 1960s. To contrast exterior finish, Borrani silver painted wheels and polished lips has been used. Interior of Aston Martin DB4 GT Zagato Continuation consist of Obsidian Black leather that covers the pads in the carbon fiber race seats, the door cards, headliner and rear environment.
Cabin also consist of black Wilton carpets bound in Obsidian Black leather and stitched in matching Obsidian Black thread and FIA-approved roll cage as standard. Under the hood of Aston Martin DB4 GT Zagato Continuation, it features 4.7-liter version of the straight-six found in the DB4 GT Continuation. It produces an output in excess of 390hp and is mated with four-speed manual transmission that powers rear wheels through limited-slip differential. Aston Martin DB4 GT Zagato Continuation is following the successful footsteps of 25 DB4 GT Continuation models sold in 2017 and precedes Goldfinger DB5 Continuation cars which will arrive in 2020. DB4 GT Zagato Continuation will be bundled with DBS GT Zagato as part of the DBZ Centenary Collection that is priced at £6 million. Deliveris will begin from first quarter of this year and DBS GT Zagato from fourth quarter.
