Alpine recently introduced range-topping version A110S for UK lineup. Nonetheless, it doesn’t mean that it can be turned more powerful than A110S. Europe based tuning company, RaceChip is offering power upgrades for Alpine A110. Price of this upgrade is just €399 in Germany. It gives new lease to turbocharged 1.8-liter engine by increasing its output by 42hp and 67 Nm of torque. However, buyers must consider Stage 2 package as it lifts the output to 300hp and 400 Nm of torque for just €699. With the help of software upgrades, RaceChip promises to improve fuel efficiency up to 15 percent in the most agile version.
It comes with two years engine warranty, although limited to €10,000 and a warm-up timer. The lesser version has a one-year warranty up to €3,000 that claims to improve fuel economy by up to 10 percent. To ensure everything is working perfect, RaceChip strapped Alpine A110 to the dyno before and after the mods. It revealed numbers side by side on the screen. Post haste, they unleashed it on highway which measured 100-200 kmph acceleration in both cases.
Tuned version of Alpine A110 is 12hp and 80 Nm more powerful than the A110S which also gets few other mods on top of the Pure and Legende versions. It consists of a carbon fiber roof, Brembo brakes, lightweight 18-inch alloy wheels, re-tuned suspension that has 50 percent stiffer springs and 100 percent stiffer anti-roll bars. Moreover, ground clearance is reduced by 0.2 inches along with other visual upgrades. All these are stiffly priced at €61,165 (£56,810) in Britain. Incidentally, it is pricier than Porsche 718 Cayman T by £5,000.
