We have earlier reported that Alfa Romeo is working on a sports coupe that will revive the GTV moniker. It is scheduled to hit production by year 2021. Hence, many petrolheads and designers from all over the world are busy creating rendered version of the same. Currently, we have Taekang Lee’s take on the coupe. Judging by the first appearance, the designer took a strange path and mixed elements from 4C and Giulia in a rather cab-rearward design. The digital rendering has muscular hood that stretches long with no end.
However, design of the roof and stocky rear suggest that it might be a two-seater. The front of the rendered concept is dominated by thin headlights, and smaller triangular grille which is what Alfa Romeo uses. The smaller grille is flanked by two large side intakes at the base of the bumper. It is one of the versions of the reported coupe. There might be other such renderings but they don’t look as promising as this one.
Whatever maybe the case, the GTV Coupe will hit production by 2021. Power in the coupe should derive from 2.9-liter twin-turbocharged V6 unit. The same unit also power Alfa Romeo Giulia and Stelvio Quadrifoglio. Both if them offers an output of 503 horsepower. However, Italian automaker is pushing towards electrification, we should no be surprised if the engine incorporates electric motor and push the output in region of 600 horsepower. It will also help in reduction of CO2 emission which is becoming critical as norms are getting more stringent.
