We are just two months away when Chevrolet will showcase their mid-engine Corvette at North American International Auto Show. It may be exciting, but not many can take place of the Chevrolet C7 Corvette Z06. C7 generation cars are highly desirable sports car in the market. In this post, we will show you a highly modified version of Chevrolet Corvette Z06 that is made to resemble like the C7.R race car. Thankfully, it hasn’t lost its status as road-legal car. Speed Society took this Chevrolet Corvette Z06 that is powered with supercharged 6.2 liter V12 engine for their project. The stock version offers 650hp and 881Nm of torque.
Straight line 0-62mph acceleration takes just 2.95 seconds and it has the potential to overtake any European expensive models. Speed Society was unsatisfied with the figures and divulged into upgrade and started with the engine. Engine has been massage to deliver a whopping 850hp and 1,194Nm of torque. It manages to improve the figure considerably considering ZR1 offers 755hp and 970Nm of torque. As expected few changes has been made to the engine such as new cylinder heads, a Vengeance Racing Billet Core Camshaft, Vengeance Racing Dual Valve springs, Vengeance Racing hardened pushrods, and Katech timing chain are such additions.
Interestingly, Chevrolet Corvette Z06 has been tuned in such a way that it can run on methanol. Even though the performance is impressive but the major eye-catching aspect of this vehicle is the aesthetics. In its attempt to mimic C7.R, Speed Society made some cosmetic changes. The most evident from it is the huge rear wings and has been amped unlike any other ‘Vette. Chevrolet Corvette Z06 rides on two-piece forged alloy wheels from ADV.1 that measure 19 inch at front axle and 20 inch at rear axle. It wears Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tires. The exterior of Corvette Z06 is painted in Corvette Racing Yellow. Check out our huge gallery of this heavily tuned Corvette Z06.
