Kia Motors have just unveiled a teaser of all-new K5 midsize sedan. It will be known as Kia Optima in the United States. 2021 Kia Optima/ K5 is scheduled to make its debut in December. It will launch in North American by next year as 2021 Optima. This third-gen Kia K5 will feature a completely new design inside and out. It is evident from the rendering images. As per Kia Motors Korea, the all-new K5 will evolve from a sedan into a sleek fastback that sports bold design elements to create an intense and futuristic image.
2021 Kia Optima not only has a sloping roofline, but the major exterior styling upgrades has been made such as a new face defined by an aggressive headlights and recessed radiator grille. They form a single continuous element. Kia has dubbed it as “Tiger Face” and said that the elements shows the direction of their next generation design and will be applied to its future models. Interestingly, headlights and taillights are shaped like a heartbeat an is evident at the front as the DRL signature which follows unusual shape of headlamps.
Rear of the 2021 Kia Optima consist of LED taillights that are connected by an illuminated strip but light signature consists of many fragmented segments. The teaser also shows unusual C-Pillar that is crossed by a thick molding that is extended to trunk lid embracing the rear screen. For now, these are just sketches, once the vehicle comes out in 2021, we are expecting less conventional than what we are shown here. Kia claims that interior follows concept of driver-centered future orientation that will have lot of space and openness. Dashboard will sport a fully digital instrument panel next to a widescreen center display oriented towards driver.
