Toyota is looking for reimagining its brand with the new Corolla. It was introduced at the Guangzhou International Auto Show in China and was wrapped in sheet metal. 2020 Toyota Corolla will be offered in two variants. In China, it will be called as Levin and in North America; it will be called as Sporty. In selected markets such as China, Europe and other, high-end Prestige will be available. The 12th generation Corolla sedan rides on TNGA (Toyota New Global Architecture) platform. The new platform is also used on Toyota Camry, C-HR and Avalon. TNGA platform is new and stiff that offers quitter cabin.

The wheelbase of 2020 Toyota Corolla is 106.3 inch, but it is slightly shorter and smaller than its predecessor. The torsion beam has been replaced with a multi-link rear suspension. Mechanical and styling aspects of 2020 Toyota Corolla are shared with Corolla hatchback. The new compact sedan now has angular aggressive design than before that is evident on the front. Nonetheless, the rear is much more conservative when compared with the hatch. Cabin of 2020 Toyota Corolla has same design and tech features such as Entune 3.0 infotainment system that supports Amazon Alexa and Apple CarPlay. Base US models will get 7 inch infotainment system whereas high0end trim will get 8 inch infotainment system.

During the presentation of 2020 Toyota Corolla, few details were provided. However, Toyota already confirmed that 2.0 liter Dynamic Force Engine and a hybrid variant that will be sold in select regions. North American market will get three engine options that start with 1.8 liter inline-four engine that offers 139hp and works with continuously variable transmission. The next in range is SE and XSE that uses 2.0 liter four-cylinder engine that offers 169hp and 210Nm of torque. XSE variant is only offered with CVT whereas SE can be opted with six-speed manual with an electronic rev-match. A hybrid version is also on the card and will be revealed during its debut in Los Angeles on 28th November.
