We are just short of few days away for the gates of Los Angeles Auto Show to open. At this event, Porshe will introduce three new models that includes electric Taycan 4S. 2020 Porsche Taycan 4S is slotted below Tayca Turbo and is priced at $103,800. Hence, it is cheaper by $47,100 than Taycan Turbo and $81,200 than Taycan Turbo S. As you would have guessed, it lags in some aspect which are smaller 79.2 kWh battery and two electric motors. It produces a combined output of 523hp.
Buyers looking for more power can opt for optional Performance Battery Plus. It carries over from Taycan Turbo models and has a capacity of 93.4 kWh. Beside bigger battery output is also increased to 563hp. Even though it has two different powertrains, both the version is able to accelerate from 0-60mph in just 3.8 seconds and hits a top speed of 155 mph. Porsche didn’t reveal EPA range estimates but in Europe, the base model offers a travel range of 252 miles as per WLTP cycle. However, with Performance Battery Plus, the range increases to 287 miles and is perfect for range anxious buyers.
Traditional buyers for Porsche fans can opt for Macan Turbo that is also celebrating US debut at this event. The Porsche Macan Turbo features a new twin-turbo 2.9-liter V6 that generates an output of 434hp and 550 Nm of torque. Engine works in conjugation with a seven-speed PDK transmission and a standard all-wheel drive system. It helps it to accelerate from 0-60mph in 4.1 seconds and with enough room, it can easily hit a top speed of 167 mph. Lastly, Porsche 99X Electric race car will also be showcased that will compete in 2019/2020 ABB FIA Formula E Championship. Company also claims that it will serve as development platform for future all-electric production road cars.
