The highly anticipated and all-new Porsche 911 made its debut at Los Angeles Auto Show. With the new eight generation, Porsche makes it an important step in their long journey of sports car. 2020 Porsche 911 hasn’t gone out of its way to change the successful aesthetics of the outgoing model. They have made some minor changes to the new 911, codenamed 992 and it looks exceptional. At the front of Porsche 911, looks quite similar to the outgoing model. Change on it include, revised air intakes, new headlights and different horizontal LED daytime running lights. Price of base version of 2020 Porsche 911 Carrera is €120,125 in Germany and Carrera 4S has asking price of €127,979.
This doesn’t mean that there aren’t some subtle changes made to the 2020 Porsche 911. It can be spotted via reshaped hood with different lines. All models now gain enlarged fenders regardless of trim or how many wheels are driven. One of the most striking changes made in the 2020 Porsche 911 can be found at the rear. It now has sharp taillights that are connected by a large strip. It is similar to that we have seen with Mission E. Designers at Porsche have also crafted new bumper that is atypical of 911s. Different variants will use different bumpers and feature bespoke tailpipes. 2020 Porsche 911 will be offered with only in wide-body guise.
Rest of the design in the new 911 is pretty much the same. Hence, we will indulge with muscular arches, sporty wheels, and curved roofline. However, door handles sits with body flat and extended when pressed. Base Carrera version gets 19 inch wheel at the front and 20 inch at the rear. Carrera S gets 20 inch and 21 inch respectively. Interior of 2020 Porsche 911 comprises of large 10.9inch infotainment system, revised switchgear and a new instrument cluster. Porsche will use improved twin-turbocharged 3.0 liter six-cylinder engines. Base 911 Carrera offers 385hp and Carrera S offers 444hp. Carrera with 4S all-wheel drive takes 3.4 seconds to hit 62mph and tops at 190mph. Seven-speed manual transmission is offered as standard but can go for optional eight-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission.
