Porsche has a big news for their loyal customers ad they confirmed that 2020 911 will be available with seven-speed manual transmission. The gearbox will come with no-cost option, but is available on handful of models which are 911 Carrera S, 4S Coupe and Cabriolet. It needs to be seen if the manual transmission is offered on entry-level 2020 Porsche 911 Carrera. Nonetheless, buyers would get an alternative option of eight-speed PDK transmission. But buyers would have to compensate with the performance as Porsche stated that manual 911 Carrera S will take around four seconds to hit 60 mph.
If we compare the performance of 2020 Porsche 911 Carrera S with PDK variant, it takes a significant acceleration hit. Since, PDK variant takes as little as 3.3 seconds to hit 0-60 mph when equipped with Sport Chrono Package. Luckily, top speed of 2020 Porsche 911 isn’t affected as the Italian luxury sports automaker said that it exceeds 190 mph. PDK version hits 191 mph. Another advantage of the manual version is that curb weight falls to 1,496 kg. It is 38.1 kg lighter than the PDK model.
Apart from these performance specs, manual 2020 Porsche 911 will come with Sport Chrono package as standard. This package consists of dynamic drivetrain mounts, a rev-matching function and a PSM Sport mode. There is also mechanical limited slip differential with a torque vectoring function. Cars are now available to order and is scheduled to arrive in US by next spring. Price of manual 2020 Porsche 911 Carrera S starts from $113,300 whereas 911 Carrera 4S Cabriolet has a price tag of $133,400. Pricing excludes delivery processing and handling fees of $1,350.
