When we heard about the 4.0-liter flat-six unit in 2020 Porsche 718 Cayman GT4, most of us thought a detuned version of the engine unit of 911 GT3 and GT3 RS. However, Porsche opted for a new built and built a new engine from the scratch. Despite being more powerful, 2020 Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 takes 0-62mph 4.4 seconds, same as the previous model. Nonetheless, top speed is increased by 8 mph and now stands at 188 mph with the help of more efficient aero kit. Another aspect that stands out in the 2020 Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 is its weight. The new GT4 is now 80kg heavier than the older GT4. It is attributed to inclusion of mandatory particulate filter and other components with weight tipped at 1,420kg. Interestingly, 2020 Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 is 10 seconds faster than its predecessor on the Nurburgring Nordschleife.
