New family members of 2020 models for Mercedes-AMG GT have been revealed at Los Angeles Auto Show. One of them is the limited edition 2020 Mercedes-AMG GT R Pro and is meant for track enthusiasts. The new lineup of 2020 Mercedes-AMG GT comprises of GT, GT C, GT R and GT R Pro. Revision on the exterior has been made such as Panamericana Grille design and reworked headlights. On base GT and GT C, redesigned rear fascia and new tail-pipe design has been incorporated. Major changes have been made to the interior of 2020 Mercedes-AMG GT. It now offers latest touchpad infotainment system and 12.3 inch digital instrument cluster.

2020 Mercedes-AMG GT also includes new steering wheel with touch sensitive nubs and 10.3 inch console mounted screen. It also gets LCD displays to control performance functions like driving modes. Center console has new color display buttons. The TFT switches helps in adjustment of features such as exhaust system, transmission and chassis settings, start-stop system, and rear spoiler. Performance improvement is aided by new AMG Dynamics stability control programming. The system works on conjugation with drive mode functions which are Basic, Advanced, Pro, and Master respectively. 2020 Mercedes-AMG GT gains newly developed 10-doubled-spoke forged wheel in titanium gray. Power in 2020 Mercedes-AMG GT comes from twin-turbocharged 4.0 liter V8 unit that offers 469hp and 465lb-ft of torque in Coupe. GT C Coupe and Roadster gets 550hp whereas GT R and GT R Pro offer 577hp.

Stand out amongst the lineup is GT R Pro and has been designed specifically for racetrack. It came to fruition thanks to the experience gained by automaker with AMG GT3 and GT4 racing cars. Four keys areas where GT R Pro dominates are suspension, lightweight construction, aerodynamics, and appearance. New set of coilovers has been developed for GT R Pro where compression and rebound are adjusted via a dedicated dial. It also features carbon fiber shear panel on the underbody that claims to improve stability and rigidity. GT R Pro is also outfitted with ceramic composite brakes and Uniball spherical bearings on rear lower wishbone and upper wishbone.
