Engine is mated with seven-speed Seamless Shift Gearbox with Inertia Push technology in Track Mode. It “converts built-up flywheel energy into a momentary burst of torque on upshift.” To make things more interesting, Sport mode allows driver to hear the upshift crack created by a split-second cut of the ignition spark during gear change. There is more to 2020 McLaren 620R apart from powerful racer engine. There are lot of similarities between McLaren 620R and GT4 racer such as single-piece carbon fiber Monocell II chassis that gives it a dry weight of 1282kg. There are also GT4’s adjustable aerodynamic elements, race-derived suspension components, and braking system. Moreover, we would also find adjustable carbon fiber rear wing similar to GT4 but is raised by 12.5-inches into the cleaner airflow above the vehicle to increase downforce and minimize drag and a third brake light.
