Genesis has revealed facelifted version for US-spec G90 fullsize sedan. It comes after introduction of revamped flagship in their home country of South Korea in 2018. The changes are so drastic that some might think it might be next-generation model. However, this is not the case as we are seeing a massive refreshed vehicle that started out as Hyundai Equus. 2020 Genesis G90 has large “Crest” grille flanked by quad headlights. Changes has been made to the hood and front fenders that also includes new faux side vents for 2020MY.
Back of the 2020 Genesis G90 is even more sophisticated with the help from redesigned taillights with full-width light strip that runs across the entire trunk lid. This gives this large sedan a dominating presence especially at night. Moreover, there is also integrated rear spoiler and dual exhaust tips shaped like grille with mid-cycle refresh. To suppress tire noise, optional 19-inch wheels come with sound absorption. Cabin of 2020 Genesis G90 isn’t that drastic and includes 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system that supports OTA updates with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay integration.
Adaptive control suspension has electronic damping sound for smooth ride and Active Noise Cancellation does its job. Several safety systems have been incorporated such as lane following assist, rear cross-traffic collision avoidance assist, forward collision avoidance assist, safe exit assist and highway driving assist. 2020 G90 will go on sale from next month in US with two variants. The 3.3T Premium has 3.3-liter turbocharged V6 and a 5.0 Ultimate with a 5.0-liter V8. V6 engine offers 365hp and 510 Nm of torque whereas V8 unit offers 420hp and 519 Nm of torque. Both the engines use eight-speed automatic transmission and rear-wheel drive as standard, but AWD is also available as option.
