When Ford introduced the Shelby GT350 and GT350R, every Shelby fans were eagerly waiting for the GT500 as it was the real winner. It is set to push the limit of street legal with the help of 5.2 liter V8 unit which also has supercharger bolted in. Full technical details of the 2020 Ford Shelby GT500 has not been revealed, but it claims to have an output in excess of 700hp. The setup will help the 2020 Ford Shelby GT500 to sprint from 0-60mph in mid-three seconds and quarter of mile in under 11 seconds. The supercharger 5.2 liter V8 is also present on GT350. 2020 Ford Shelby GT500 bodywork is created with collaboration with Ford Performance engineers that allows front to such 50 percent more air than GT350.
The attached supercharger is huge and with a capacity of 2.65 liters. It is even bigger than Hellcat and ZL1 but is slightly smaller than Demon. This is the reason by Ford is branding it as quickest “street-legal” acceleration and comprises of most high-performance technology ever offered on Ford Mustang. Ford Performance has incorporated Tremec seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission that transfer power to rear wheels with the help of unique carbon fiber driveshaft. Gearbox can manage shifts in under 100 milliseconds and comes with several modes that includes normal, sport, drag and track. Other features comprise of line-lock and launch control.
Chassis of 2020 Ford Shelby GT500 features revised suspension geometry, lighter coil springs, next-gen MagneRide dampers and a new electronic power steering unit. To provide braking power, a set of massive 420mm two-piece rotors up front with six-pot Brembo calipers. Two handling packs are available for 2020 Ford Shelby GT500 which is Handling Package and more extreme Carbon Fiber Track Package. Handling Package consist of adjustable strut top mounts and a spoiler with Gurney flap. Carbon Fiber Track Package comes with 20-inch carbon wheels, custom Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 rubber, an adjustable GT4 wing and splitter wickers with dive planes and no rear seats. The sale of 2020 Ford Shelby GT500 will begin from this fall.
