Ford have announced that 2020 Mustang Shelby GT500 will be company’s most powerful road-legal car ever. If official numbers are to be believed provided by Dearborn based automaker, the supercharged 5.2-liter V8 engine offers an astonishing 760 horsepower and 847 nm of torque when run on premium fuel. Hence, it can be called as “the most power- and torque-dense supercharged production V8 in the world.” With respect to power, 2020 Ford Mustang Shelby GT500 is slotted between Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat (707hp) and Challenger SRT Hellcat Redeye (791hp).
Incidentally, it is also 110 horsepower more than the 2019 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 which offers 650hp. But is short by 34 Nm of torque. Now, 2020 Ford Mustang Shelby GT500 if compared with supercars it doesn’t fare bad. For instance, McLaren 720S uses 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 engine that produces an output of 710hp and 770 Nm of torque. Ford was tight lipped about the top speed but earlier reports suggested that the top speed is electronically limited to 180 mph. The reason behind this step is because company is believed to focused towards a model that can easily hit 180 mph mark.
Ford spend the money on other aspects of the vehicle to improve and enhance it. 2020 Ford Mustang Shelby GT500 focuses more towards aerodynamics and improve cornering abilities than its predecessor.
