When it comes to high-performance wagons, Audi has all the capabilities of offering one. It is evident from the new 2020 Audi RS 6 Avant. Expected to make its public debut at Frankfurt Auto Show, it will also be offered in America. This is first for a wagon and Audi Sport GmbH managing director Oliver Hoffmann there is a huge potential. 2020 Audi RS 6 Avant comes with twin-turbo 4.0-liter V8 engine that is rated at 592hp and 800 Nm of torque. Engine is mated with eight-speed automatic transmission that sends power to quattro al-wheel drive system. The setup helps it to accelerate from 0-62mph in 3.6 seconds and has limited top speed of 155 mph.
This wagon comes with specially tuned adaptive air suspension and a sport differential. Both of them promises to enhance cornering agility by actively splitting torque between each of the rear wheels. Optimized steering wheel develops significant return forces as steering angle increases to provide precise steering feedback. Buyers will be able to order RS sport suspension with Dynamic Ride Control. Six different drive select system is available that includes auto, comfort, dynamic and efficiency. However, 2020 Audi RS 6 Avant also features two unique modes which are RS1 and RS2. Both of them are individually configurable and can be pulled by pushing RS Mode button on steering wheel.
With respect to styling, 2020 Audi RS 6 Avant follows same footsteps of A6 and S6 Avant with few changes. For instance, there is a prominent Singleframe grille with gloss black mesh inserts that are unique to the model. There is also a bulging hood, massive air intakes and a silver splitter. Back of RS 6 Avant features massive wheel that is backed by carbon ceramic braking system along with a dual exhaust and a unique rear bumper with integrated diffuser. Not much is disclosed by the interior, but it will consist of 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, 10.1-inch infotainment system, and 8.6-inch lower display as standard. Nonetheless, there are RS-specific touches such as RS-branded sport seats and a flat-bottomed steering wheel. Audi confirmed that digital instrument cluster will show RS-specific display information on tire pressure, torque, power output, engine oil temperature, boost pressure, lap times, acceleration measurements and g forces.
