Volkswagen wants a piece of premium segment which is dominated by premium auto manufacturers. German automaker has given a golden opportunity for mainstream players to gain foothold in this segment with the introduction of T-Roc R. 2019 Volkswagen T-Roc R will make its debut at the upcoming Geneva Motor Show. It also marks for the first time “R” moniker is used for any SUV. It has been developed by Volkswagen R and the premium SUV offers same power to that of Golf R. Power in the 2019 Volkswagen T-Roc R is derived from 2.0 liter TSI turbo-four that is rated at 296hp (300PS) and 400 Nm of torque.
The engine works with 7-speed DSG dual-clutch automatic transmission and has standard 4Motion all-wheel drive. Thankfully, the gasoline engine helps the 2019 Volkswagen T-Roc R to reach impressive performance figures. It can sprint from 0 to 62mph in 4.9 seconds and top speed is electronically limited to 155mph. Volkswagen didn’t just include high performance engine is T-Roc R, but made some additional changes. 2019 Volkswagen T-Roc R comes with lowered suspension and a standard progressive steering system for improved cornering. There is also 17-inch braking system sourced from the Golf R Performance.
Other performance enhancing features include a launch control feature, a new “Race” driving mode, and the ability to manually switch off the Electronic Stability Control. With respect to design, 2019 Volkswagen T-Roc R has unique radiator grille from the body kit which has polished silver band of anodized aluminum, beefier bumpers with large intakes at the front and vents at the rear, quad exhausts and exclusive 18-inch Spielberg alloys. As an option, buyers can also opt for 19-inch Pretoria rims in dark graphite matte with 235/40 R19 tires. Minor changes include chrome mirror caps, roof spoiler, slightly wider wheel arches, black brake calipers, and door add-ons in the color of the vehicle with an optional black roof.
