Rolls Royce has finally taken the cover off its highly anticipated SUV Cullinan. It is also their first SUV and is dubbed as world’s first luxury crossover. The name “Cullinan” is derived from world’s biggest discovered diamond and currently it is part of British Crown Jewels. 2019 Rolls Royce Cullinan is described as all-terrain vehicle with hard-body that embodies luxury off-road vehicle for the first time. It was customer’s wish that the British carmaker builds a SUV and it was fulfilled. The 2019 Rolls Royce Cullinan is second model to be based on new aluminium “Architecture of Luxury” platform.
The aforementioned aluminum platform is also used on the latest Phantom. Under the bonnet of 2019 Rolls Royce Cullinan, there is reworked twin-turbo 6.75 liter V12 engine. The engine offers an output of 563 horsepower and churns out peak torque of 850Nm at 1,600rpm. The acceleration of this SUV has not been announced, but the luxury automaker disclosed that the top speed will be 155mph. The chassis has re-engineered self-leveling air suspension system that comprises of larger air struts and more air volume. Stronger drive and prop shafts has been included so that the SUV can handle tough terrains.
Boot space of 2019 Rolls Royce Cullinan is 560 liters and when shelf is removed it stands at 600 liters. When the rear seats are folded down, it creates a space of 1,930 liters. The “Tailgate” is called as “The Clasp”. Tailgate is a two-section item and features a pair of special picnic seats. Deployable glass partition is one of the highlights of rear seats and it differentiates cabin and luggage compartment. The price of 2019 Rolls Royce Cullinan starts from $325,000 MSRP and other options will cost an extra.
